I refined the UI systems for the NICER Courses, NICER Noticeboard, NICER Opportunities, and NICER Shop by improving spacing, layout consistency, and cross-platform design alignment across all cards and sections. I adjusted the positioning of the “featured” badge to prevent it from overlapping with variable-length titles and standardized the header spacing for a cleaner and more predictable text flow. 

I unified the card structure using consistent flex-based layouts, ensuring that action rows remain anchored at the bottom for stable button alignment, regardless of content length. Additionally, I refined the filter and action button systems on the Noticeboard, Courses, and Shop platforms into a cohesive interaction pattern. This included introducing a glassmorphic UI layer with rich navy active states, subtle cyan glow accents, and consistent hover/active feedback to enhance visual hierarchy and usability. 

I specifically re-themed the Shop filter buttons to align with the broader NICER design language, combining translucent glass styling with a deep navy active gradient and soft glow effects. This adjustment aimed to create uniform interaction behavior across all platforms, resulting in a unified ecosystem experience. 

Finally, I submitted all these changes as version 2 prototypes to my mentor for feedback and began researching the technology stack for the Noticeboard's backend development....

Additionally, I focused on implementing and refining interaction tracking using Google Analytics event logic for tracking CTA clicks, navigation interactions, form submissions, menu interactions, and scroll depth behavior. 

I also analyzed and revised the project’s A/B testing strategy by transitioning from macro-testing to a micro A/B testing approach. This new approach emphasizes UI and UX optimization through controlled variations, including hero messaging, CTA wording, visual emphasis, and engagement behavior across the ecosystem platforms.

Furthermore, I documented the rationale for the proposed micro A/B testing, including hypotheses, metrics, testing context, and experimental structure, in a format ready for presentation to my mentor for review and approval....

I worked on the NiCER Noticeboard prototype by implementing and refining the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript structure using dummy data. I fixed the filtering functionality by aligning data attributes with the JavaScript logic. Additionally, I improved navigation and scrolling to the Opportunities section, simplified the navigation to reduce redundancy, and introduced proper section headings to enhance structure and scannability.

I refactored the Opportunities layout to ensure correct hierarchy and standardized the “Submit Opportunity” call-to-action for clarity. This included rebalancing and centering the hero layout. Furthermore, I developed the Noticeboard wireframe, focusing on layout and product/category structure....

Today I began working on network infrastructure for the GNSS system. I assisted in setting up communication between sensor nodes and the cloud platform using Wi-Fi technology. My tasks included basic configuration of network parameters to ensure successful data transmission. I also familiarised myself with how the system architecture supports real-time communication between hardware devices and cloud services....

Windows 11 enterprise clean installation and ran updates. Installed softwares on the computer and installed printers. Did a password recovery for a user....

Today, I focused on designing low-fidelity wireframes for the NICER ecosystem platforms, specifically the noticeboard and courses platforms. I converted the previously defined system architecture into practical interface layouts, ensuring that each platform clearly supports its intended function.

For the noticeboard, I developed a minimalist structure centered around opportunity discovery, utilizing category-based filters to dynamically control a single list of opportunities. In contrast, for the courses platform, I designed a more structured learning interface that separates curated “Featured Courses” from a filter-driven “All Courses” section. This setup allows for both guided and exploratory user experiences.

Throughout the process, I ensured consistency in layout, hierarchy, and interaction patterns across the platforms to maintain a unified ecosystem design. This task enhanced my understanding of user flow design, content structuring, and the importance of aligning interface decisions with the objectives of each platform....

Today I focused on configuring UART communication in STM32CubeIDE for the STM32L476RG. I set up the USART peripheral, configured the appropriate baud rate, and implemented a simple transmission test. Using a serial terminal, I verified that the STM32 could successfully send data to the PC, confirming that the USB (ST-Link Virtual COM port) and terminal settings were correctly configured....
Today I finalised cloud deployment activities. I assisted with setting up data storage solutions using Amazon S3 and DynamoDB to ensure efficient handling of time-series environmental data. I also supported the implementation of AWS Lambda functions to process incoming data and trigger alerts when specific atmospheric thresholds were reached. Additionally, I contributed to improving system reliability by assisting with buffering and retry mechanisms for unstable network conditions....
